ABOUT ABOUT

Seasoned eye on an anxious world - Trudy Rubin

North Korea.  ISIS.  Russian mischief and Chinese ambitions.  Climate change and a crumbling Europe.   Wherever you look, the world offers distressing news.  Whenever you watch, cable news offers hot takes that are light on context, long on sensation and partisanship.   Through it all, our guest for the first program of the Sunday Breakfast Club year continues to offer up measured, deeply reported analysis of world events.  Trudy Rubin has been writing the WorldView column for the Philadelphia Inquirer for decades, making multiple trips to (often dangerous) foreign lands each year. Twice she's been a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in commentary and won a host of other journalistic awards.  Her book on the Iraq War, Willful Blindness, proves that not every American journalist was snowed by the false reports about Iraqi WMD.  Before coming to the Inquirer, she was Middle East correspondent for the Christian Science Monitor and a staff writer for the Economist.   Join us at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 4, for a timely, lively, interactive tour of international affairs from a Philly perspective.  If you have topics or questions you'd like Trudy to address, please email your thoughts to Chris Satullo at [email protected].
